Ingredients
- 400g Tofu
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 Tbsp Hot Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Vegan Mayo (or neutral oil)
- 1 Tbsp Water
- 1 tsp Vinegar (or lemon juice)
Steps
Preparing the tofu
Cut the tofu in to 4 slices and optionally cut into the shape of a chicken breast. Then boil the tofu in hot, salted water for 3 minutes or rest in hot water for 10 15 minutes. This will make the tofu more porous.
Regardless of your cut or preparation the tofu should be scored.
Making the marinade
Double up the ingredients, mix and let the tofu marinade. Let it sit for at least 20 minutes.
Grilling the tofu
Cook on a grill, in a skillet or the oven. If you want crunchy bits, dust in flower before shallow frying for a skin-like texture.
